Fallout Shelter is a free-to-play Sanctuary life simulator from the Fallout universe. The game was released in 2015, and then was updated and added to several times. In 2020 there was a rumor that Fallout Shelter Online was to be released on the European market. The game is available on all major platforms: the AppStore and Google Play, Steam, for PS, XBox and even Nintendo Switch.

But even upon seeing the first version, the heart of all old-fashioned fans should be beating more often. The game is simply stuffed with the Fallout games' storylines, and with each update there are more and more of them.

Fallout Shelter is drawn in the spirit of 50's cartoon graphics, and the characters seem to be drawn from Volt Boy from Vault-tec. Luckily, apart from the nostalgic grapho and lots of references, there's a lot to tell.

You're the Sanctuary Keeper.

Here's your manpower and 4 types of resources: power generators, water terminals, canteens and the cash to build it all up. Plus living quarters that limit the number of manpower. There is also a sentiment indicator for the Sanctuary on average. It's displayed as a percentage and governs overall zeal and productivity. It all seems obvious: find a balance of resources and get your development spiraling up the efficiency.

But. But. But there is a nuance. It's buried in a very fine-tuning of optimal balance. One has to look into stats of men very carefully, time of resource refresh should be calculated very carefully, staff should be distributed and building and upgrades should be planned for 5 moves ahead.

As you develop the Sanctuary you can build new buildings: a cafe, a gym, a radio studio, a school - all of them give resources or upgrades to the inhabitants' stats according to the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system. (Acronym for Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, Luck). And always, ALWAYS keep an eye on the balance of vital resources.
